Pennsylvania American Water to upgrade Chesco plant

Written on March 25, 2010

Pennsylvania American Water said Thursday it will start $20 million in upgrades to its Rock Run Water Treatment Plant in West Caln, Chester County, Pa., this summer.

The Hershey, Pa.-based subsidiary of Voorhees, N.J.-based American Water Works Co. (NYSE:AWK) said the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority recently approved providing it with nearly $9.9 million in low-interest financing for the project no fax cash advances.

The plant provides drinking water to 11,500 people in Coatesville, Pa., and surrounding communities. Pennsylvania American Water plans to replace aging equipment and install new chemical feed systems in the plant to ensure it complies with current and future drinking water regulations.
